Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Orthopedic physical therapy focuses on the orthopedic, or musculoskeletal system including the treatment and rehabilitation of muscles, tendons, bones and joints. At KBP, we have a strong manual therapy based approach as well as an in-depth skill set on application of appropriate exercise prescription and neuromuscular re-education. The term manual therapy applies to any technique that involves the therapist's hands. Manual techniques may include: spine, joint or nervous system mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular facilitation, trigger point release, manual stretching, kinesiotaping, and strain/counterstrain to name a few. Literature shows that the combination of manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise are superior to manual therapy or therapeutic exercise alone.
